About Me

Sue
Right after my 20 year High School reunion in August 2002, I went off the pill. It's hard to believe that almost 5 years have passed since then - and what a 5 years it has been! Six losses, numerous invasive procedures, all kinds of drugs, three IUIs, and an IVF round w/donated eggs. Finally, on December 17, 2006, after a 10 week hospital stay, I became a mother to three amazing babies. May God bless this broken road!

I'm home!!!

Hi, Everyone! I wanted to let you know that I'm finally home from the hospital. What a wild ride. I have so much to tell you, but right now my feet are swollen beyond description so I'm going to go elevate them for a while.

Thank you so much for the outpouring of prayers for me, my husband, and my children.

I've really missed you guys and can't wait to catch up.

Christmas update

Everything is good. Susan was transferred back to her old room and everything is looking normal. She got the opportunity to hold the babies today and is finally starting to feel like a mother. Susan will likely be released altogether by the end of this week, therefore, this will be my final post on her behalf. I will let her update you all once she returns home. Thanks again for all of your support.

Good news

Susan was taken off the ventilator last night and has had a pretty good day. At this point, she is still quite groggy, but things look encouraging. If things continue as is, she is expected to be transferred out of ICU tomorrow and back into the general population. Hopefully she will be able to meet her babies soon. By the way, she gave birth to 2 boys and a girl. Their names are Nathaniel(Nate)Adam, Benjamin Alan, and Peyton Nicole.

12/18/06

Susan gave birth to the triplets yesterday, December 17th. On the morning of the 16th, she began experiencing some swelling in her thighs. After a few tests it was determined that her kidneys were shutting down and a c-section was scheduled for that morning. The delivery went well with the exception of some excess bleeding, and all the babies came out breathing and alert. Shortly after the delivery, Susan went into a sort of shock and was immediately transferred to the ICU. There, over the course of a few hours, she was sedated, put on a ventilator, given 4 units of blood and put on dialysis due to acute kidney failure and low blood oxygen levels. Toward the end of the evening, her ICU Dr. told me that Susan was touch and go and that she could possibly die. Luckily, the treatment seemed to help and she made it through the night without incident. At this point, she is still on sedation and hooked up to the ventilator. I met with the Dr's several times today and they all seem to be pleased with her results. The plan at this point is to take her off the ventilator tomorrow if she remains stable throughout the night.

Things are still up in the air. We are all praying that Susan makes a huge recovery and is able to be a part of her babies lives. I know I need her to be a part of mine!

The babies are doing well. They were delivered at 31 weeks, 5 days. One of the babies in on a ventilator and may need a blood transfusion, but all of them appear to be stable.

Thank you for your interest in Susan. She is truly a wonderful woman and I can only hope and pray that she makes a full and quick recovery.

Update on Sue

This is Susan's husband, Bret. Susan was admitted into the hospital shortly after her last post, due to a shortened cervix. Shortly after admission, she had a significant bleed and was admitted for the duration. Amazingly, everything is fine and Susan is closing in on week 31. She is doing so well, in fact that the Dr's are talking about going 36 weeks. Thank you for your thoughts.
